THE BRIEF
The idea for this cover design began with a simple urge: to stretch her skill set, and to give new life to the photographs she’d quietly been gathering. Then a poem was found — and suddenly, it all made sense. A story about friendship, about what we keep and what we lose. As always, it couldn’t be a straightforward story. This book became a novel with pictures and poems, because she believes that not every story can be told in words. Some can be found in looks, gestures and cups of tea.

Photo manipulation
The final cover image, heavily edited and inspired by the dreamlike work of @meanwhilenowhere, together with the poem build the concept.

Concept
This project began as a personal challenge to step outside her usual muted, earthy colour palette. The result is a bold, modern composition that balances clarity with warmth. The design takes cues from Swiss-inspired minimalism — clean layouts, strong typography, and generous negative space — while introducing personal, handwritten details that soften the structure. The typeface Giverny, inspired by impressionism, brings an elegant, nostalgic undertone to the contemporary design language. It’s a considered contrast: bold colour, minimal layout, and intimate, personal storytelling coming together.

The "bookmark"
There’s always a twist in everything she creates. Inspired by that same quote, the designer crafted a bookmark that, on closer inspection, is more than it seems. Flip it over, and you’ll find a perforated line — tear it open, and inside are two tea bags. Why? Because reading a book alone might not spark real change. But slipping someone a quiet excuse to grab a tea with a friend? That could. To test the idea, a working prototype proved two standard tea bags fit neatly inside.
